Zurab Tsereteli is head of the Russian Academy of Arts and Moscow Museum of Modern Art.  He’s also an accomplished artist himself, with most of his work catalogued and photographed online (click the images at the left to open new categories).  He created this piece in New York as a memorial to the victims of world terrorism after 9/11.
